Yuezhou (in modern Hunan) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Yue Prefecture (Hunan) Yuezhou or Yue Prefecture (岳州) was a ''zhou'' (prefecture) in imperial China in modern Hunan, China, seated in modern Yueyang. In the Yuan dynasty it was known as Yuezhou Route (岳州路) and in the Ming dynasty as Yuezhou Prefecture (岳州府). It existed (intermittently) from 589 to 1372. It existed (intermittently) from 589 until 1913. ==Geography== The administrative region of Yuezhou in the Ming dynasty falls within modern northeastern Hunan, around the eastern, northern and southern shores of Dongting Lake.
